Sightseeing and cooking class in the vibrant capital of Tirana

ALBANIA

Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa, Tirana (TIA)

The capital city, Tirana, is a rapidly growing city. If you listen closely you can almost hear the streets creaking under the strain of the pressure of growth. Like a teenager with growing pains, it’s changing all the time, and isn’t always comfortable with what’s happening to it. But there’s enough positive traits here to know that this will one day soon be a mature, confident, vibrant “adult”. Explore Tirana through this sightseeing tours and taste the flavours of Albanian old dishes cooked with love by the locals.

Popular dishes include tave kosi, turkey, lamb or goat Pershesh, served with a local bread known as Kulac, a meat and leek pie made with thin pastry called Byrek and freshly caught fish served in a Mediterranean style. Fish dishes are often flavoured with white vinegar and olive oil grown in Southern Albania and many dishes are served with wine from one the local vineyards.

Please let us know of any dietary requirements in advance so we can cater to these.

The best months for hiking in Albania are February to June and September to November when the weather is warm and sunny, reaching temperatures of around 30 degrees. July and August can be hotter, however this is usually broken up by cool coastal breezes.
