For the first time in the Western Balkans, the development of a new adventure water activity has started. It is called PackRafting and is not only a new water sport in Albania, but also simpler and more practical than traditional rafting.
According to Blerina Ago from “Active Albania” this type of sport gives you the opportunity to get a dinghy adapted to the human physique, without the need for a car, as it weighs only 3 kg and as such can be taken to practice even in areas where vehicles are not allowed.
Pack Rafting can be enjoyed in lagoons, lakes and rivers by combining it with hiking, cycling etc.
Blerina Ago, author of this new tourist offer, explained that the “Active Albania” team is redesigning tourism products to respond to the COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 period.
“After a detailed study of consumer behavior, tourism trends in the European market and the consequences of the pandemic, Pack Rafting was conducted in accordance with international standards because:
✓ We want to enable tourists to maintain social distance and follow all hygiene and safety protocols.
✓ we aim to minimize the traces of our tourism activities by offering ecological adventures and reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the environment.
✓ we like to share with others, so we make sure that in all pack rafting itineraries throughout Albania to engage local guides and hosts of the area where we develop our tourist offers, making it possible for tourists to stay longer near local communities, to spend more and leave with the best Albanian taste “, says Ago.
